Corcovado Tours from Drake Bay
GoCorcovado runs Corcovado tours from Drake Bay with certified naturalist guides who know the park from years of walking its trails. Corcovado National Park, on Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula, shelters one of the richest concentrations of wildlife left in Central America: jaguars, Baird’s tapirs, scarlet macaws, and four species of sea turtles, all sharing primary rainforest that runs uninterrupted from the mountains to the Pacific coast.
Our guides grew up in the Osa Peninsula. They know which river crossings tapirs use at dawn, which almond trees the macaws prefer, and how to track a family of peccaries by scent alone. That local knowledge is what turns a walk through the forest into a wildlife experience you will still be talking about years later.
What to Expect on a Corcovado National Park Tour
Each Corcovado National Park tour starts with a morning boat ride from Drake Bay along the Pacific coast. Dolphins often swim alongside on the way to the park entrance. Inside Corcovado, your guide leads you along forested trails and points out animals and plants that most visitors walk straight past.
Wildlife we regularly see on our tours from Drake Bay:
- White-faced capuchin and spider monkeys in the forest canopy
- Baird’s tapirs near river crossings and muddy trails
- American crocodiles resting on riverbanks
- Poison dart frogs in blue, red, and green
- Scarlet macaws nesting in giant almond trees
- Peccaries, coatis, and anteaters foraging along the trail
- Humpback whales and dolphins spotted from the coast (seasonal)
All tours include park entrance fees, a bilingual naturalist guide, lunch and snacks, and round-trip boat transportation from Drake Bay. We keep groups to 6 or 8 guests so that wildlife is not disturbed and everyone gets real attention from the guide.
Day Tours vs. Multi-Day Corcovado Adventures
Day tours are a solid choice for families, photographers, and anyone who wants a good wildlife day without camping overnight. The boat ride, trail time, and lunch make for a full day inside the park.
For those who want to go deeper, we offer multi-day trips that reach Sirena Biological Station at the heart of Corcovado. Sirena sits where two rivers meet the ocean, and the wildlife density there is hard to find anywhere else on the planet. Multi-day tours include overnight accommodation at the station and meals cooked on-site.
